“Our local rep Patrick Jonker is an awesome supporter of our business with helpful advice, product knowledge and training, and customer service. BikeSportz has come up with some unique and innovative ways of supporting retailers like us. We highly recommend. ❞

Not (just) a sales team

Other businesses might refer to them as a Sales Team, but not us. ‘Sales’ doesn’t do justice to everything this team delivers. Sales teams elsewhere are often sharks willing to wheel and deal to get their commission, not really caring what happens after that point. They put in effort only when they can see a direct return. That concept could not be further from reality for our Account Managers. They understand long-term success is based on relationships and always being there for our dealers. Not every interaction has to result in a purchase, but it does have to result in the dealer feeling the love!

Account Manager responsibilities

So, aside from dropping in with a coffee and the latest news, what keeps our Account Managers on their toes? This energised group is responsible for the following:

Ensuring we supply the products our dealers expect - managing orders, and establishing new accounts.

Adjusting content of sales presentations according to what dealers need to know.

Submitting orders by referring to price lists and product literature.

Keeping the wider BikeSportz team informed by preparing activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.

Monitoring competition on behalf of dealers by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.

Recommending changes in BikeSportz’s products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.

Resolving dealer enquiries by developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to the BikeSportz team.

Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Attending industry events to grow networks and knowledge that will benefit dealers. Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
