REYNOLDS REVIEWS
"It's worth saying, though, that two of the three testers were very enthusiastic about the way the Reynolds wheels rode, and reckoned they were clearly superior to the others ."
Cycling Weekly is Britain's biggest selling
bike magazine and rated Reynolds ahead of its major
competitors in their latest wheels review.
Here is what they thought of the Reynolds DV-UL wheelset:
"Reynolds DV-UL wheels ahre a common design with the DV-46 range, having
16 radial front spokes and 20 rear, crossed on the drive
and radial on non-drive side. The important
difference is the composite construction used to significantly reduce
rim weight.
At 46mm, rim depth is ideal for all-round use; obviously aerodynamics as test results show, but not so deep as to be hugely affected by crosswinds. With little rotating mass underneath you, it's suprising to find that they feel fast off the mark and climbinf is easier. What is a pleasant suprise is having these benefits combined with excellent lateral stiffness and a comfortable ride. < br />
The only tiny gripe from the ride was knocking valves due to the slightly larger valve holes - but it's a problem that is easy to remedy. Only price prevents the perfect 10: it's more than the majority can stretch to, even for an exceptional set of flashy carbon hoops.
